Classic Blue Cheese dressing is the perfect accompaniment to wings, veggies, salads & more! It’s easy to whip up & tastes so much fresher than anything from a bottle!

Versatile recipes are the staple of any well functioning kitchen. I love being able to quickly whip something up that can be used in many different ways. This Classic Blue Cheese Dressing is the perfect example of that! This dressing is most commonly used in my house for dunking buffalo wings, but it’s just as delicious as a salad dressing or a dip for veggies, the possibilities are endless! With the Super Bowl just around the corner this simple recipe is one you’ll want to have in your arsenal!

Homemade dressings & dips can seem intimidating when they come with long ingredient lists, extensive instructions & too much time in the kitchen. This dressing holds a permanent spot in my fridge because it uses common ingredients, that are all mixed together & you’re set. It does require some fridge time to let the flavors develop, but that’s what makes this recipe perfect for making ahead of time.

What You Need to Make Blue Cheese Dressing

Ingredients:
  • mayo
  • Blue Cheese ( my favorites are from Point Reyes or Treasure Cave)
  • half & half
  • sour cream
  • lemon juice
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • salt & pepper

Combine all the ingredients (reserving some crumbled blue cheese for the end) & give it a good stir. If you have a large enough mason jar, you can add all the ingredients & give it a good 10 second shake. Once the ingredients are well combined, add remaining blue cheese & gently stir to combine. This is a good point to taste for seasoning, but keep in mind the flavors will intensify as the dressing sits & you don’t want to over salt the dressing early on.

Pour the dressing into a container with a lid & allow it to chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes. The longer the dressing sits, the more the flavors will develop. This dressing is best when made the day before serving! But will still be delicious if you only have 30 minutes. The dressing can also be stored in the fridge for 7-10 days so I love to make a batch at the beginning of the week to have for veggies, salads or sandwiches!

What to serve with Blue Cheese Dressing:

  • chicken wings
  • sandwiches
  • buffalo cauliflower
  • salads
  • veggies
  • burgers
  • fries

Blue Cheese Dressing is best when kept in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 10 days.

If I don’t have all of the ingredients can I leave some out?

Unfortunately no, each of the ingredients listed is an integral part of the flavor and the consistency of the dressing.
